Honest Chicken announced as new sponsor

Forest Baseball is excited to announce The Honest Chicken as our ‘Player of the Match’ sponsor for Summer 2019/20!

The Honest Chicken has generously offered to sponsor a reward for a player of the match in every Forest team, every week this summer. This is an exciting new partnership that pairs a family favourite local business with our grassroots sporting club.

The Honest Chicken is about farm-to-table, free range chicken, that’s hormone and antibiotic free, with proper stuffing. It’s about flame-grilled burgers made the old fashioned way. It’s about generous portions of healthy salads, with a big taste to match. Local, top quality produce. Fresh ingredients every day.

Visit http://www.thehonestchicken.com.au or in store at Glenrose Shopping Centre, Belrose.

Just one more reason to get registered with Forest Baseball Club this Summer!

Junior registrations open!

Registration for our junior players (aged 4-16) for summer 2019/20 is now open!

Baseball Australia has rolled out a new online registration portal this year, so parents will need to create a new user account when registering. Detailed instructions on how to register and the link to the registration database can be found by clicking here.

The club has implemented a number of new initiatives this summer to get kids playing baseball, including:

  • Sponsorship money has been utilised to provide loan jerseys for EVERY new player in our U7/U8/U9 Tball teams.
  • Every new player to the club will receive their first Forest cap FREE!
  • Our U7 Aussie Tball program has been subsidised to include a glove, cap, pants, and a playing top (top on loan) for just $50 with an Active Kids Voucher!
  • New scoreboards will be in place on EVERY ground this summer to improve the player and spectator experience at Aquatic.
  • And most importantly…we put in an early order for plenty of seeds in the canteen to start the season!

In addition, Forest will be launching SPRING TRAINING for Forest players and their friends every Sunday during August (A4 and/or A5 from 10am-11.30am). These informal training and game sessions are aimed at those between U7 and Little League Major (i.e. 5 to 11 years old). We encourage our players to bring their friends along to give the game a try themselves with a view to signing up their mates to play baseball prior to the season commencing in September.

Spring training sessions will be run by qualified coaches and include warm up drills, specific positional training (pitching/catching) and mini games modified to suit each age group (Tball/Zooka/Live Pitch). Most of all – it is aimed at getting our players back on the field and having some fun! Sessions commence August 4th. More details to come.

There’s never been a better time to play baseball than right now!

Scoreboards arrive in the Forest!

The Forest Baseball Club (FBC) is excited to announce the arrival of four brand new scoreboards at our home ground of Aquatic Reserve Baseball Park. All the new scoreboards come with tripods and wireless remotes to allow scores to be updated in real time during game play and will be visible to all players and spectators on EVERY junior ground (A2/A3/A4/A5) during Summer 2019/20. In addition, we are also in the process of selecting and purchasing an even larger scoreboard befitting the status of A1 as the premier baseball ground for everyone involved in Manly-Warringah District Baseball Association. The new scoreboards will enhance the baseball experience at Aquatic for players and spectators from all clubs as they visit the home of FBC.

We look forward to putting the new scoreboards through a trial over the final weeks of the Manly-Warringah Minor League this winter before rolling them out for our juniors in summer. The scoreboards are a welcome addition with Manly Baseball awarded hosting rights for a number of BNSW State Championship tournaments this upcoming summer season.

We would like to thank the NSW State Government for their support as part of the Community Building Partnership program and John Farrant for his work to prepare the grant submission that has allowed this to happen.

Stay tuned for more exciting announcements at the club as we approach registrations opening for Summer 2019/20. To register your interest in playing this summer click here.
