The Forest Baseball Club (FBC) is excited to announce the arrival of four brand new scoreboards at our home ground of Aquatic Reserve Baseball Park. All the new scoreboards come with tripods and wireless remotes to allow scores to be updated in real time during game play and will be visible to all players and spectators on EVERY junior ground (A2/A3/A4/A5) during Summer 2019/20. In addition, we are also in the process of selecting and purchasing an even larger scoreboard befitting the status of A1 as the premier baseball ground for everyone involved in Manly-Warringah District Baseball Association. The new scoreboards will enhance the baseball experience at Aquatic for players and spectators from all clubs as they visit the home of FBC.
We look forward to putting the new scoreboards through a trial over the final weeks of the Manly-Warringah Minor League this winter before rolling them out for our juniors in summer. The scoreboards are a welcome addition with Manly Baseball awarded hosting rights for a number of BNSW State Championship tournaments this upcoming summer season.
We would like to thank the NSW State Government for their support as part of the Community Building Partnership program and John Farrant for his work to prepare the grant submission that has allowed this to happen.
Stay tuned for more exciting announcements at the club as we approach registrations opening for Summer 2019/20. To register your interest in playing this summer click here.
Forest Baseball is excited to announce Sapere Valuation has signed on as the major sponsor of the club in a multi-year deal.
The first sponsorship tranche in summer 2019 will be aimed at lowering the cost of entry to baseball for our youngest players as the club looks to solidify its position as the family club on the Northern Beaches.
Sapere Valuation has a history with baseball in Manly, with the company sponsoring the Manly Eagles State League last year.
Club President Owen Harris commented “We’ve been lucky to inherit a healthy club from our prior administration. Over the last 12 months we’ve been putting a plan in place for building for bigger and better things and this is just the first step in that next stage of growth”. With funding in place for the next three years, the club’s longer term plans involve improving the spectator and player experience at Aquatic Reserve Baseball Park in conjunction with the Manly Association.

On the heels of the victory for the Forest Brewers in the Manly-Warringah Minor League Summer (open age) competition, Forest have continued recent strong results claiming the 2019 Manly-Warringah Minor League Masters (over 35s) competition.
The team defeated the defending champion Ballers 8-4 in a tight contest.
Congratulations to the Forest Brewers who won the MWML Summer League 1st grade grand final 9-6 over the Redbacks on Saturday. The team created history for the club by becoming the first Forest team to win the Judy Head Memorial Trophy in its 27 year history.
Performances were led by two of our junior coaches, Dean Storey who pitched 5 innings for the win; and Owen Harris who went 3-3 with the bat and took some crucial catches in the outfield.
The team contained a number of current Forest junior coaches, including Storey (U8 Mariners), Harris (LLMi Rockies) , Shawn Elliott (LLMi Rockies), Rhett Dinsdale (LLMi Rockies), Brook Russell (Int League), PJ Patterson (LLMa Diamondbacks), Sean Chivers (LLMi Astros) and John Farrant (U10 Athletics). Commiserations to Ben Logue (coach of Junior League Cubs) who pitched superbly in a losing effort for the Redbacks.
Special mention to Owen Harris who managed the team on top of his President duties for juniors; and Joe Weller who has overseen the growth and development of Forest senior baseball in the last 18 months to become the largest and most successful senior baseball program on the Northern Beaches.
The Brewers will now contest the NSW Champion of Champions event to be held at Aquatic Baseball Park on 30/31st of March against the best Minor League teams from around the State, including Newcastle, Illawarra, Far North Coast, Pacific Coast. Macarthur and Sydney Metro.
Congratulations to all involved.
