Forest Baseball Club fields a number of teams in the Manly Summer Baseball League.
There are generally two grades in the Summer League, with 1st grade targeted at those that want to play competitive baseball and a lower grade targeted at those that want to play more for the social experience.
Games are 2 hour timed games played at 1pm and 3.30pm on Saturday afternoons.
The competition is designed to provide an opportunity for those aged 17 and over to play baseball at home on the Northern Beaches with limited travel. Most games are played at Aquatic Reserve Baseball Park in Frenchs Forest and Rat Park in Warriewood.
Summer baseball update (30 August 2019):
Despite earlier indicating otherwise, Manly-Warringah Minor League believes there may now be a lower grade competition convened for the upcoming summer. This will be entirely dependent on other clubs submitting teams. We note that if a lower grade competition is not possible then MWML Summer will be a single grade competition, and it should be noted to all players wishing to register that this will be a competitive rather than social competition.
Regardless of the above, Forest has two teams that can be entered in the Pacific Coast Baseball League ‘D’ grade competition. D grade is a social level of baseball but it will require more travel (11 of 21 home games at Aquatic with the remainder in places like North Sydney and Ryde). Our experience with the PCBL in winter is that it is an exceptionally well run and organised competition and we’d strongly encourage our players to consider this option for the upcoming summer.
