Forest Baseball Club fields a number of teams in the Manly Winter Baseball League.
There are generally four grades in the Winter League, ranging from experienced and highly competitive baseball in 1st grade, through to a very social level of baseball in 4th grade. In Winter 2020 we understand there may even be a 5th grade option. Forest will field teams in every grade.
The graded competition is structured to offer participants of all levels of ability (beginners to representative level players) an opportunity to experience playing baseball at home on the Northern Beaches with limited travel. Most games are played at Aquatic Reserve Baseball Park in Frenchs Forest, Rat Park in Warriewood or Abbott Road in Curl Curl, with some played at Balgowlah Oval in Balgowlah.
Games are 2 hour timed games played at 12 noon and 2.30pm on Saturday or Sunday afternoons.
WINTER REGISTRATIONS HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED!
Due to COVID-19 all baseball activity is to cease until May 2020 and likely beyond. This will cause a delay to the commencement of the Winter 2020 season.
Forest Baseball Club remains committed to ensuring that the health and wellbeing of its members remain the priority and support Baseball Australia and Baseball NSW in this decision. We will continue to work with Baseball Australia, Baseball NSW, the Office of Sport, NSW Health, Sport NSW, Manly-Warringah District Baseball Association and Pacific Coast Baseball League to deal with this emergency as best we can.
Key 2020 season information includes:
- Season dates to be revised once Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.
- There will likely be a 5th grade this winter so we encourage new players, particularly parents of juniors and cricketers looking to keep their eye in, to sign up.
- Forest will field at least one team in every grade.
